Message from the Chief Patron and Honorary President
It gives me immense pride to serve as the Chief Patron and Honorary President of the Digital News and Media Council of India (DNMCI) – an institution dedicated to strengthening the voice of digital media professionals across our nation and beyond.
In today’s era, where technology and communication are evolving at an unprecedented pace, digital media has emerged as the most powerful tool of information, awareness, and social change. The responsibility of every digital journalist and media professional is not only to inform but also to inspire, to uphold truth, and to maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
The DNMCI, under the able leadership and vision of Dr. Nixan Thottan, Secretary General, has been tirelessly working to build a strong and credible platform for Digital Media Professionals. His dedication to Empowering Journalists, Nurturing ethical practices, and Creating opportunities for growth has set the foundation upon which this Council stands today.
As part of our first phase of expansion, DNMCI is proudly establishing the Digital Press Club of India (DPCI) in every district and town across India, as well as in selected countries abroad — creating a unified network that Connects, Empowers, and Recognizes Digital Journalists and media creators at every level.
In the next phase, we envision launching DPCI’s own Digital News and Entertainment Channels in all Panchayats and Major Towns across India and globally by 2028, ensuring grassroots-level participation and global reach under one strong media ecosystem.
Together, this mission is possible. Those who stand for Truth, Unity, Peace, and the spirit of Virgin Journalism are welcome to join hands with us. Through Collaboration, Dedication, and a structured Leadership framework, we shall work for our Mother Nation and Beyond, promoting Transparency, Harmony, and Responsible Journalism.
As Chief Patron and Honorary President, I extend my full support to this remarkable initiative and envision DNMCI becoming a Trusted Nodal Body, Aspiring for Recognition and Collaboration with the Government of India, civil society, and international organizations to strengthen transparency, credibility, and professionalism in the digital media ecosystem.
I warmly welcome each of you – media professionals, students, and stakeholders – to be part of this journey. Together, with leaders like Dr. Thottan and the dynamic DNMCI Team, let us build a stronger, ethical, and globally recognized digital media community for India.
